Wardell School along with the Commonwealth Bank are encouraging children to save for their futures and develop lifelong money skills by providing the opportunity to open a Dollarmite saving account. The school also receives fundraising benefits when deposits are made through the program.
School Banking is operational every Thursday. Children are encouraged to bring in their commonwealth banking books and any money to be banked at this time. Every tenth time the children bank, they receive a reward for good savings behaviour from the commonwealth bank along with a certificate.
This program is currently run by Fiona Lochrie. Anyone interested in starting a children's commonwealth savings account can speak to Fiona or contact the school to receive information and application forms.
